Testing the DC-16
I had a text from my friend and fellow Nokia fan and Lumia 920 user Stephen Oiller (@psychomania666 on Twitter) the other night, asking me to check the DC-16 with my Lumia. He had found that using the DC-16 with his wife's Lumia 820 had only added 35% or so to the phone and was kind of disappointed ! I tried my 920 with my charger and although it didn't actually seem to be doing anything to start with, it did a similar job on my 920 to the one it had done on Donna's (Mrs Mania) 820, however I hadn't used my DC-16 for a few weeks , so decided to give it a proper test today.
So I fully charged my DC-16 today and when I got in from work and my Lumia had died to about 30% I plugged in the DC-16 and left it to charge for a couple of hours, it was only showing one light after about an hour, but continued to charge the Lumia so I left it until the phone showed it was no longer charging and after about two hours the Lumia was up to 98%, so an increase of 67%, nothing to be sneezed at, but frankly a little disappointing as the DC-16 was completely flat. Certainly it will still act as a backup power supply, but it's the first phone I've tried it on that it wouldn't fully charge. Possibly the battery capacity of the 920 or the voltage required is an issue, but I still expected a 'full tank' in my new Lumia from the DC-16 considering it should carry 200mAh more than the 920 ?.
Would be interested if other 820/920 users could try their DC-16's with their phones and see exactly how much charge they're managing to get from them ?
Well thanks for reading, grateful for feedback, cheers.
